Well, we had the parent-teacher interview with Avery's JK teacher recently. She said and I am quoting "She scored the highest on the oral-language comprehension test that I have ever seen". Go Avery! She also said that she is extremely bright, very self-confident, always willing to help, and is very enjoyable to have in her class. She also said that she does have a bit of a perfectionist complex and does get upset if she thinks something she has done is not good enough. I have NO idea where that trait comes from - certainly not me! It didn't really surprise me. Avery has always been very advanced verbally. I could have a full conversation with her at 18 months and she was also fully potty-trained by then.

Bad little blogger
I'm off to a fantastic start. Two posts in 2 1/2 weeks. Way to go!
Tonight, I am having a 'girls night' with my beautiful Avery. What excitement comes with a night with a 4 year old, you ask? Well, we usually start with her picking out a movie, right now she seems to be stuck on Barbie/fairy movies (yippee). Once we have found our movie of choice, mommy (that would be me) makes a nice buttery bowl of popcorn and puts a few 'squirmy worms', as Ave's calls them, on the side. We then cuddle together and enjoy the cheesieness that is a barbie movie. After that, we read books, brush the teeth and then snuggle in bed giggling and whispering until my girl drifts off to sleep. These are some of my favourite nights!
The boys (that would be daddy and Dylan) will be doing the following:

- Dylan will get put to bed at usual time - around 7:00
- Daddy will then enjoy some alone time, watching some shoot em up movie of his choice, sprawled out on the couch with perhaps a bevvie and a snack.
There are, in case you were wondering, Avery and Daddy nights wherein everthing is just flipped except mommy goes for the tissue-box, 'drama's that I can never get hubby to watch!
Not much else is new to report, other than I attended my high school year reuinion last weekend. Thank god that was the first and last. I strongly do not recommend drinking with old buddies until 5:00 in the morning when you have two children under 4 that you need to spend time with the next day. Holy freakin ouch!

Joining the blogging world
Well, since my newest obsession of the past year seems to be reading blogs, blogs and more blogs, I thought that I would start my own. I love the idea of recording some of the little moments of our lives, things that make me giggle, things that make me sad and just having an overall outlet to record my thoughts. I am very fortunate to have two beautiful children who I love with my whole heart, and a great husband who is a fantastic father.
